Poisson's Ratio
Table of Contents
Poisson’s Ratio is given by:
$$ \nu = - \frac{\epsilon_x}{\epsilon_z} = -\frac{\epsilon_y}{\epsilon_z} $$
Where
- \(\small \nu \) is Poisson’s Ratio,
- \(\small \epsilon_x \) is the strain in the x-direction,
- \(\small \epsilon_y \) is the strain in the y-direction, and
- \(\small \epsilon_z \) is the strain in the z-direction.
